Pinterest Craft time Installment 4

So I've been meaning to post these for a while unfortunately I kept getting interrupted so thats why I'm posting 2 installments in one day, wooo lucky you.

ok so a lied, this is not a pinterest craft, just a project I've been wanting to try for a whileeee
I'm not sure what I was randomly googling, I think I was trying to find something crafty to do with all the gross plastic bags I have from either the supermarket or shopping, because although I do have loads of those reusable bags, I only have one with me at the grocery store about 1 in every 900 times that I go :-/ and usually I'm using mine as an extra purse to take 5 extra outfit changes with me to work (don't ask). So I stumbled across this weird etsy lab video, but easy to follow.

So I fused away for a while because I do have a project in my mind that I want to do with them but I'm not sure how its going to pan out yet, so I'll re-post on that later. So basically you pull out your ironing board an iron and some parchment paper, open some windows, fold your bag so its about 8 ply, that will make it sturdier if you end up using it to make a bag. Once you have the fused pieces you can sew them together, Im thinking of sewing some together in a cool pattern to make a beach bag, because it will be water proof and If you spill anything in it you can easily clean it.
here are some pics from my fusing process

The yellow bag was a stiff plastic bag from a restaurant, the black one I had gotten from work, turned it inside out to use the solid black, the grocery store ones fuse a lot easier but aren't as durable, if you plan on using the pieces for a bag ide go for shopping bag from stores which tend to use a sturdier plastic

Pinterest Craft time Installment 3!

Sorry for the delay with these, I've had the pictures in my phone for a week now, but I lost my scan disk converter that goes into my computer, so I finally emailed them all to myself, and attempted to edit them all, still dealing with crappy cell phone quality sorry.

So last sunday? I think, it was relatively nice out so I was going to be productive, well my productivity didnt start till around 3 pm after getting out of my bed at noon, making myself some brunch and then watching a marathon of the voice.

2 coffees later I decided I was going to re paint my parents old dining room chair I took for my room, once a white chair,  it now a grungy tan,  and re-upholster it, but my yellow spray paint, yes yellow, was no wear to be found, I have a vision of painting it yellow and then I found abunch of fabric in my hoarded collection of fabric in my closet to use on it, but for now I've decided on the navy and white stripes, a fun and cheery combination with the yellow i think.

but the yellow spray paint was hiding on me pretty good so I opened my pinterest projects board in hopes of some new craft inspiration.

I've been wanting to do this one for a while because it looks cute and relatively easy and inexpensive. Thought that I had some spare lightbulbs too.

unfortunatley my spare light bulbs were not clear :( but! I did have a lot of clear empty wine bottles that I had previously de-labeled for vases, and I found some big doilies and some metallic bronze spray paint.
and so the crafting commenced.
I should have taken some process pictures, but I was doing it on my back porch and it was extremely windy!
I taped the doiley, with painters tape, to the side of the bottle..and sprayed, simple as that.

So here were my results. I forgot to take a picture of it in my room, it actually looks really cute

[I'll re-edit and post it later when I get home]

In like a lion out like lamb

well march is definitely holding true to the old saying " in like a lion out like a lamb". Although I'm glad that I was only thrusted by wind this morning and not snow, holy cow. Sometimes I think to myself that although I've spent all 23 years of my life growing up in new england, I cant be a new englander at heart, maybe thats because I always lived near the beach, heck even before I was in this world I made sure to enter this world on the first day of summer, because I did not want to be an august baby and miss out on what was my first summer. Needless to say I hate snow and the cold, and lately my arch nemesis has been wind. Snow on the eve of the first day of march, 21 days till the first day of spring, we were graced with a leap day snow shower, which I was sure was going to turn into a snow storm for the sheer sake of irony, the leap day snow storm of 2012, but for once mother nature was on my side and didn't let that happen. I laid in bed this morning scared to go to my window and check in fear that the grounds were doused in white precipitation. But as I lay there, I noticed one hopeful cue, I did not hear that miserable scraping sound of a snow shovel clearing side walks and driveways. So In was very happy to know that my shoulders would escape another day of torture known as snow shoveling, and I wouldnt have to wade through snow banks on my way to work this morning. I could hear the wind murmuring against the side of my apt and I wasnt too thrilled about that, but it wasnt snow, so I couldnt complain right? Sometimes well actually every day for the past 3 months I think that boston, not chicago should be named the windy city! I have tried hair spray after hair spray in hopes that after an hour spent of curling my hair it would for once make it to work. I bought extreme hold and even used the tiny barell for tight curls. I didnt even run my fingers through to loosen them, I left my house looking like little bo peep knowing that the wind would loosen them up, but my little bo peep curls were no match for the lion force of wind that they had to face, and my hood smushing them down was no help as well. But my "windproof umbrella" was a childs toy in the wake of these wind gusts that spiralled down the city streets, so I clung to my hood and hoped that some of my curls would remain in tact.

none. made it out alive today.

I took down my hood and wearily looked into the mirror, to see not a single curl in tact, not even a loose wave. What's worse is the film of that "extreme" hold hairspray remains on my now straight windblown hair. Thankfully I dont think many people will be out and about shopping today and coming into my store. I definitely need to start keeping a curling iron at work.

So I think today at work I will search amazon for some extreme hairsprays, any that claim that can withhold hurricane force winds? I used to use aqua net for skating competitions, and my hair would remain in the same do for 3 days, so I might have to go back to good old aqua net, or just use my sock bun everyday until march starts acting like a lamb and less like a lion

anyone have any suggestions? besides wearing an astronaut helmet?

well I'm going to make a st patricks day display i.e. make a shamrock out of green ties cus this is the only month of the year I can display the necktie with mugs of green beer.yep.

may your first day of march be more successful than mine
