This set started off being for an animal print contest. Now I used to be the biggest fan of animal print, even as a third grader I remember choosing to do a report on the leopard so I could wear my leopard print outfit for my report. Then of course a few years ago there was a resurgence of animal print trends, and I found myself buying leopard print heels, leopard scarves and sweaters, then like most trends it was played out a little to much and I started to feel like a mix of Fran Drescher from The Nanny and a cast member of the Jersey shore. So I found myself slowly abandoning my love for animal print. But of course I never get rid of everything, my leopard heels are still sitting sexily and the back of my closet because I know trends continue to pop up for a while until the disappear for a while and then comeback in a big way years down the road. So with this set and contest I couldn't find it in myself yet to style an outfit with a leopard or zebra print dress, though there are still many tasteful ones out there, and then I came across this asymmetrical Cavalli dress and I knew I had found my happy medium. So once the dress was found I was led to these fantastic heels, my favorite item in the set. I love Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and its no wonder from looking at these why he was named shoe designer of the years, he makes a burnt orange heel look chic and sexy but not tacky. The other item that struck me was the tiger clutch. I was looking for the bag to match and saw this little guy not even realizing that it is actually a bag, a couture bag at that. What may look like an overdone child's toy from a far is actually a cute elegant Judith leiber bag, fully encrusted in swarovski crystals, then hand painted to take on the look of a ferocious tiger. I'm not sure I could rock a tiger clutch, though I admire his craftsmanship, so for those of us who are less bold, I paired it with the DVF metallic clutch, to add a touch of glam to this look. So hopefully the inner wild child in you will find some inspiration in this look.
