cville river jellyfish?

decided to walk on the other side of the dunes today, which is next to the cville river, My phone was dying so I only took acouple pics, the second is what I think is a jellyfish? Its only my second time walking on this part of the beach, last time was around 1:00, today I was there around 5:00, but these were all over the sand, most of them smaller, but this one was pretty big, Ive only seen a jellyfish in the water once, that was during one of my swimming lessons and I screamed and ran out of the water, thankfully without getting stung, I've also seen those kinds of jelly fish that just look like little piles of clear goo, moon jellyfish i think?, you can touch and play with them and they don't sting you, but i think most of the time i've seen these have been at a beach in naragansett, not near here at all so thats why I was confused to see these little guys and because they were brown in the middle. So who knows, I didnt touch it with my hands, I tapped it with my foot, I assume they were dead, if it was even a jellyfish, maybe it was just pollution or something. It was also weird because they were washed up on the river side of the beach not on the ocean side.

anyone know what it is? or have ideas?

my arts and crafts wedding present

So any crafting or art project i take part in, i generally make a mess, whether its with glue, paint or thread, it somehow always ends up all over me, I guess i just like to get very involved in my projects haha, but I mean i am messy by nature, my room, my car, my purse, you name it, its a mess, but don't judge, i like my mess, when i clean i can't find anything, and it doesnt mean that im unorganized,i think the only thing in life i like neat is when im working retail, I hate when a store is messy, its too hard to shop, want to be able to see all the future merchandise that will soon be thrown on my floor, but until then i want it neatly folded and displayed. I'm a pro at board folding and hanging, but in my own room you would never know. but anyways i digress, so this craft project was difficult because it involved a lot of glueing which is usually my downfall in the neatness category. Don't get me wrong, I've created masterpieces with glue but when it comes to tasks like this where its hard to hide mistakes especially glue mistakes, its not my strong suit.

It all started when my mother asked if I could make some fabric flowers to go with a wedding gift for a friend of mine thats getting married this weekend. Mostly because I have nothing to do during the day, I dove head first into this task. Also because I spent pretty much my whole winter break last year and most of the spring creating fabric flowers for my children's wear collection. Although its tedious, I kind of enjoy making them, if I have nothing better to do. So I googled some new ones that I hadn't made before, because the ones for this gift need to be a smaller scale than then ones i made for my collection. So then these flowers escalated into me making a vintage looking keepsake box to put them and the giftcard in. The fabric flowers and vintage box go with the theme of the wedding. So I went out and bought fabric that went with the colors of the wedding, and then found a wooden keepsake box at A.C. moore along with some papers and buttons. This was after I googled wedding keepsake boxes and kind of fused a few ideas together to hopefully make one that was a. wedding-esque b. vintage-esque c. matched the brides personality, classy and chic but not overly fancy. I had found a picture of a shabby chic keepsake box and wedding keepsake box that was elegant and a classic wedding style, so I tried to blend these ideas together. Also this box has to travel via plane to her wedding location, so it couldn't be too big. The inside of the box I kind of figured out myself, knowing i wanted to put the flowers, the card and the giftcard inside, I knew I wanted to line the bottom inside with fabric and have all the items nestle in the fabric. I found a pretty pewter crepe back satin fabric, that was perfect for this because the flowers are turquoise and eggplant colored so the pewter went well, and because I didnt know if she was going with silver or gold at the wedding.

So you'll see in the pictures that I started off by painting it white, I was going to leave it at that but then I decided to put down the printed paper on the top and put the checkered silver on top of that. Now my hardest task, neatly, glueing and placing the silver squares, i tried about 4 and got glue on them so, i used a tacky glue, which was neater than hot glue but didnt stick as well as i wanted and you could see where it dried on the metallic square so I put the rest off till the end and started in the inside. Another issue erupted when I tried to glue in the lining. The box wouldnt close, so I had to rip it out and then rip off all the glue, which didnt do nearly as much damage to the box as it did to my poor fingertips. they were already pretty sore from hand sewing and beading the flowers. I made the first turq. one, then when I attempted a different one in the purple, it came out HUGE, so yes I had some propportion issues with the flowers, but they still came out cute so I didnt mind, I might sew them to a throw pillow. 6 flowers later I had 3 large ones and 3 normal sized ones that would fit in the box. Also when I had googled keepsake boxes I found cute little ones on Martha Stewarts website, that came with cute little templates, that had love quotes on them, so I printed out one of the extra large ones, which perfectly had a line to write in a date, and glued it on the inside top of the box. So I was able to write in the date and time of their wedding, in which I tried to do in my neatest and prettiest cursive writing(haha) don't think I've written in cursive since 6th grade, The cursive "Congrats" I wrote on their card I made didn't come out as well. but I tried to make it work as best as I could. When I was putting off glueing those squares I decided to make a little card, just so I could use more of the cute ribbon and buttons I bought. It's a pretty intensely crafted card haha, but rather small so if they throw it out I won't feel too bad. Finally i took some scary super glue my dad had gotten me and attempted to use that on the silver squares only because it was potentially the most neatest but the threat of my glueing my fingers together trying to glue these squares down scared me, and I'm surprised I came out of it with all my fingers working properly. I still got some on the tops of the squares but i think if i had used the tacky or hot glue it would have been worse, in matters of messyness and not sticking to the box. So I was glad when that was over. I forgot to mention that the fabric on the top outside of the box I did 2 box pleats on then tied in with thread in the middle and then glued it down, then I sewed the button on.
So three days later I finished the box, flowers and card, I could have finished sooner, but I knew i didnt have to finish it till thurs so I took my time so I didnt rush it. I'm pretty happy with the outcome, the only thing that bugs me is the glue on the silver squares but nothing I can do with that, I'm not sure If I'll make another one of these but if I do I'll definitely try and work on a better game plan with the glueing.

I think My fingers will be happy to be done, they got pricked with hand sewing needles and burnt and blisted using the hot glue gun and picking off the hot glue, and there are some reminants of hot glue on them currently, and its kind of hurting me to type with several of them haha, but what can I say.

I hope I don't discourage anyone from making one of these I think it really is a cute gift even if it is just a gift box or decoration and there's a lot of room to make it your own and change it up

Hope you like the finished product, hope the bride does too :)

ive been slacking, but I feel like its been the LONGEST winter EVER

sorry I havent posted in a while, this cold weather has really left me so unmotivated, and I just want it to be summer, but now as look out my window and see the blur of snow im not even sure when spring is coming ughh. And of course its the first year in like 3 years that I have no vacation planned, awesome. So anyways I went to the beach a week or so ago when it was actually looking like spring, but apparently mother nature just likes to tease us. But I actually walked a different way then usual, and I found another tree that is covered in conch shells ! maybe im a dork but i think its so cool, and i dont no if someone is doing this on purpose or if its another hobby of mother nature besides making me miserable with cold weather.
So here are some of the pictures I took with my phone, st.patricks day
(the picture of the house is my dream house that I found, so if anyone would like to rent that for me for the summer I would be so happy)

all hail the magic conch haha thats all that i can think of when i see these is Lord of the Flies haha

sunny summer days= cute beach cover ups 8-)

since most designers do a collection that is hommage to their hometown, well maybe im making that up, its probably more to their heritage but being born and raised on cape cod for 22 yrs i used to resent that preppy nautical look, because some people here thinks that the only "fashionable" look in some ways i still do, but in other ways ive started to embrace it, i loveee stripes especially navy and white, and i love summer dresses and beach cover ups. I think that is due to the fact that ive worked in a bathingsuit store for the past 7 years, so ive seen alot of cute cover ups and alot of not so cute cover ups. My favorite one is one that can be paired with flip flops and worn to the beach, and then you throw on some makeup and wedges and your good to go out at night, ill sometimes even wear them to work, but like i said, i work/ed at a bathingsuit store so i wouldnt suggest the beach cover up look for everyones work place. So anyways last summer i bought all these nautical fabrics to make a summer collections, with some cute gold and pearl accents, but then i got swamped with work hours and having a social life haha and only got half of a muslin done for one. But now that summer is a few months around the corner, I would love to try and work on it again, sadly i misplaced all the sketches i did for it so I'm going to have to do some new ones. So my goal is to make some great cute, but affordable summer looks that i can sell in the store that I work at
So they're not going to be anything super crazy and artistic like i like to do, just very "capey" which my friends wil probably be very surprised to see from me, there will be no neon pink and green zebras or no cable knit sweaters draped around the neck tho.
So I'll be posting my line pictures soon, I also obviously want to add this to my portfollio, so i think its only right I do a moodboard, and flats, its kind of late to do cost sheets though because i bought the fabrics last year and I have no idea what i payed for them, but if i do actually finish more than one garment I'm definitly going to make some cute hang tags, I love a cute hang tag so I definitly have to think of a cute beachy idea, and a cute label for this brand
ok. so now im off to do some designs

itching for a spring hair color

so im totally ready do ditch my chocolate locks for a new hair color, im naturally dirty blonde, but being brunette is way easier and more cost effective in the winter, and all the time, but lately its been looking so boring, everyone in new england is brunette, and although sometimes i prefer to blend in, im not one to enjoy being the center of attention, i also thought being brunette would help me get a job, but seeing as i havent been on any interviews, i say screw it im going blonde, but since i cant go straight from dark brown to blonde, i thought ide try this color as my in-between, i think i had this hair color acouple years ago but i forget, and i have hair ADD, so idk maybe ill try it again now that my hairs longer again

mcgangbanger.. urban legand? apparently not

i read about this acouple months ago, i think on the website http://www.thisiswhyyourefat.com/ which is disgusting and amazing at the same time, but apparently if you go to mcdonalds and ask for the "mcgangbanger" (its not on the menu) you will be brought this glutenous concoction. I didnt think it was real until I just googled it and low and behold multiple images of it appeared. But no I havent ordered it yet, I swore off mcdonalds two weekends ago after I went 3 times in one weekend all after 1:30 in the morning, but for all of you that have a much better metabolism then me I highly encourage that you try and order it, and let me know if they look at you like you have 9 heads or if in fact you are delivered this monstrosity which according to urban dictionary is:
An entire McChicken sandwich, bun and all, inside of a McDouble sandwich.
The McGangBanger sandwich should look like this (from top to bottom): bottom half of McDouble bun, meat patty, piece of cheese, bottom half of McChicken bun, chicken patty, lettuce, mayo, top half of McChicken bun, meat patty, ketchup, mustard, onions, pickles, top half of McDouble bun.

i think i want to go on a date, have the person take me to McDonalds and then order this and see what their reaction is.

forgot i did this acouple weeks ago

did this painting acouple weeks ago, forgot about it, wish i had done the eyes a little differently but i like the colors

better right?

the proportions on this are way better right? the flowy skirt just didnt look right with the top

spiderman? or life jacket?

so my lack of direction continues with this drawing... i wanted to draw something architectural and structural, but it kind of ended up looking like a mix of adams family, spiderman lie jacket, maybe the top would look better with a structured pencil skirt

lacking inspiration

my lack of direction in life definitely reflects in my drawings, its weird not being in school and not having a teacher teling you what to draw and how you should draw it or who to draw it for, now its a a free for all, i can do whatever I want, which should be awesome right?
