soo finally i came up with a good new years resolution. I want to start giving back more, or helping with a cause, I've been trying to figure out which cause I'de want to focus on, I feel like I shouldnt choose just one, but for now I've decided to help children in need as well as sick children. A few years ago I came across the site www.makeachildsmile.com in a magazine. This website breaks my heart to read about all these children experiencing so much struggle and hardships at such young ages. I feel so guilty for complaining about my own life all the time. Anyways, this site is great for all of you artsy people like me who want to help out, those who arent can too. You can make cards and send them to this kids. You can also buy cards too. They list hobbies of the kids so in the past I tried to make cards about the hobbies the kids like. I really and genuinly hope that these cards have put smiles on these kids faces. So Im definitly going to start making more, at least one a week, its a great way for me to help these kids and its free.
Also I've been trying to find organizations that i can make hats and blankets for, I'm not very good at crocheting, and I don't know how to knit, but I've sewn hats and blankets out of fleece for various organizations in the past, so I hope to find more of those that I can donate to, although with this extra free time on my hands, I do want to learn how to knit and crochet better so I can donate to these organizations
Anyone know of any organizations you can donate fabric too?
I have an extreme amount of extra fabrics ranging from thermal to cottons, silks etc. I don't want to throw it out by any means, so if an organization is in need of some I would love to donate,
ALSO** I have SOOO many stuffed animals from my youth that I can't bear to throw away, I was kind of a stuffed animal junky so alot of them are barely used, and just sat on my bed. So I would love to donate them to kids in need, I know the hospitals don't generally take used stuffed animals, anyone know of other organizations that would take them? or what if I wash them?
http://www.crochetnmore.com/123charitylinks.htm this site lists alot
If you know of any organizations please leave them below!
